We’ve been nominated for a Leibster Award!

IMG_5003

Thank you Kerry Ireland, creator of The Petite Wanderer, for the nomination!

So, here’s how it works: I nominated five other bloggers listed below. I’ve answered Kerry’s questions – and now my five nominees will answer my questions listed at the bottom, and nominate five of YOUR favorite blogs! Enjoy!

What is your earliest memory?

My boyfriend actually asked me this question not too long ago, and I was like “Do people actually remember their ‘first’ memory?” Because if they do, that’s pretty awesome. I can barely remember things that happened five years ago. BUT, as a child (like, five or six years old) I do remember sitting on the floor of my parents’ bedroom, watching home movies. Like – family Christmases, birthdays, any time Dad said “Let’s dig out the video camera”. My parents were the kind of parents who videotaped my every move from the second I was born –  so a lot of my early memories are of me watching home videos of myself as an even smaller child. I begged my parents to let me watch these home videos so often that they actually made a special VHS copy just for me. So I didn’t wear out the “real” ones from watching them so often.

I don’t know. Apparently I found myself fascinating. I was weird.

What is your favorite drink?

The only thing I drink is water. I know… I’m so healthy and boring. But what else is there to drink when it’s too early to drink wine and too late to drink coffee?

What is your dream career?

As a child, I would have said “singing”, because I had big plans to be the next Celine Dion. No joke – Celine Dion. Because she sang “the Titanic song”, and obviously, there was no better song at the time. So I listened to it over and over again on repeat, singing about how “goats still are gone” (‘never let go ’til we’re gone’) and “That is how I know you, Guam” (‘that is how I know you go on’).

As I got older, I eventually decided to start chasing a career in journalism and somehow – after a long string of events that I’ll save for a later post – found myself working in a sales position that – I have to say – I really don’t mind. I enjoy what I do. And if I had to write for a living, I’m afraid I wouldn’t love writing as much as I do now. Instead I can enjoy it as a passionate side project that I don’t have to worry about supporting my income.

What are your passions?

The word “passion” always reminds me of “passion fruit” – like it’s some sort of Bath & Body Works scent.

I’d have to say writing. Reading. Overall, just trying to make the world a better place.

What is the best trip you’ve ever been on?

I studied abroad my Junior year of college (AKA: declared Spanish as my minor LITERALLY just so I could go to Spain. Still don’t regret it.) While I was there, I traveled France and Italy. And now I’m the asshole at every function who says things like, “When I lived in Spain…” and everyone just smiles politely – but inside, they’re rolling their eyes. I know this, because that’s what I would do too.

Alright, folks! Now that Jenn’s done talking about herself – let’s get to the nominees!

  1. Amanda of Green Travel Girl Wanders (greentravelgirlwanders.com)

Not only does this girl have all of the best spots for traveling (we’re talking wine tastings, kite surfing, even winter weather car tips in case you’re in for a cold, snowy winter!) But she has great tips for traveling – no matter if you’re going to the Dominican Republic or anywhere in the United States. She’s got your packing and travel needs covered!

2. Sierra of The Daily Impression (thedailyimpressions.com)

I love family bloggers. There’s something about them that makes me feel like everything’s going to be okay. Sierra is a busy army wife, mama, and student who uses her blog as a resource to other military families. She talks about things like “mistakes you will make as a new military spouse” and “how to fall in love with your new duty station”. Check her out!

3. Shayla of Mind Over Midwest (mindovermidwest.com)

Hi, can we we collaborate? Shayla runs an amaaazing lifestyle blog centered around her tips and tricks for travel and beauty. Plus the aesthetics she uses on her page are TO DIE (I’ve never used that phrase before, but that’s how good it is). Extremely professional looking and great content.

4. Larysa of One Beautiful Mind (1beautiful-mind.blogspot.com)

Larysa is a minimalist who provides a lot of great information and resources for a minimalist lifestyle! Her most recent post talks about things to leave behind, making the transition into minimalism seem a little less intimidating than the idea of “just getting rid of all your stuff”. She provides a lot of insight into living a healthy, natural lifestyle – including natural beauty tips!

5. Shelby of The Styled Petite (thestyledpetite.com)

Shelby’s style blog is what I hope my blog looks like when it grows up. She has a keen eye for fashion and excellent photos on her blog. Not only does she give you great style ideas, but she lets you know where to buy things at an affordable price! Definitely adding this one to my Favorites.

Congratulations, ladies!! Now it’s your turn! Answer the five questions below and nominate five new bloggers! (And don’t forget to link this blog and give me a shoutout! Share the love!) But most of all, have fun with it!! 🙂

  1. Why did you start blogging?
  2. What kind of blogs do you enjoy reading?
  3. Who is your FAVORITE blogger?
  4. If someone approached you to write a book based on your blog, would you do it, and what would you call it?
  5. What are your favorite posts to write?
